This module is on surgical approaches for Bi-Cruciate Retaining Knee Arthroplasty (BCR TKA) with JOURNEY◊ II XR.
Offering guidance for pre-operative planning and assessment, the faculty presents an overview of optimal use of such a arthroplasty procedure, retaining both cruciate, with JOURNEY II XR knee system - including its contribution to motion and kinematics – with tips for exposure, placement, and fixation.
This training relates to the JOURNEY II XR prosthetic system, but alternative devices are available.
Pre-requisites
- A good understanding of the basic principles of Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) and on JOURNEY II knee system, design rationale and philosophy, is recommended as well as a surgical experience in knee arthroplasty in general.
What you will learn
- Formulate a pre-operative plan, brief the surgical team and position the patient appropriately
- Select and use JOURNEY II XR instrumentation safely and correctly
- Expose the joint using the correct approach and surgical technique
- Distinguish proper surgical steps and techniques of Bi-Cruciate Retaining Knee Arthroplasty with JOURNEY II XR Knee system
